Ever since I was young, my brother and I would create games and play together. In our rusty, unkempt yard we would dig tiny trenches, set up beige and green army men, and take turns devastating each other’s platoon with rubber bands until one of us was victorious. We made our own fun. I imagine thousands of other children in similar situations. 

As board game loving adults, we all know that we are just barely removed from our childhood. Each game is a universe to explore and a story we can share as we gather together as old friends and new. I see so many parallels between gaming and my Christian faith – communion, fellowship, brotherhood (and sisterhood!), law, and even concepts of good and evil, which enrich many games.
